Tiggy

Here is an image that I have been wanting to capture for a little while now. The "lovely" that she is holding is called "tiggy" and she has had him since infant-hood. I bought him as a transition for nap time, I had no idea how attached she would then get to him. There was a time when we had three tiggy's that we rotated through seeing how she liked to suck on the corners of it but then we could not find them any more. The store either stopped selling them for awhile or we were just blind and did not see them. So thus we were stuck with the one and just washed it every second day. Then one day we found them in the store again and bought three more! However since she had had this one tiggy for so long she knew him. She knew his smell, his feel and she knew the color of the corners (a nice stained brown). She looked at this (new) tiggy we handed her with a confused look but put him in her mouth anyhow but immediately spat him out, "that is not my tiggy!" So we left it a another day or too then tried once more but this time she looked at this imposter and said, "that is not my tiggy!"
Now to this day she has him by her side. We make sure that whenever we leave the house we have him and when we leave where we are we make sure we have him. Abigail is turning four this March and the dentist says we need to start phasing him out due to an over bite occurring. I don't know who it is going to be harder for, me or her. Phasing tiggy out means she is growing up. She is not so little any more. Not my baby whom I rocked in my arms while she snuggled and found comfort in the both of us. I knew this day would come one day; I just did not think it would have come so soon.

Life itself is a gift, capture it!
